 Not a good guitar for anythingMar 01, 2010

My band runs a yearly bake sale to raise money at a local school event. Last year we raffled off a guitar and that went over well. This year we decided to purchase a cheap guitar to raffle off, and this is the one we decided on.
I knew going in that this wasn't going to be a nice guitar by any means, but I expected it to be playable. I can understand how they might not take to time to properly intone the guitar so that the higher frets remain in tune, but it's like they just slapped a bridge on wherever they pleased and shipped it out. Even though each string was in tune, they weren't in tune with each other due to the poor craftsmanship.
If you're planning on buying this guitar to teach yourself or your kid how to play, just don't. It's going to make you hate music. And your friends. And yourself. That's how bad it is.
I felt legitimately bad about giving this guitar to someone. I felt so bad that I atoned for my sins by hitting myself with a rope, in the same way that big albino guy from The Davinci Code did. And that's my story.

Very fast shipping, it came within three days of ordering it. When I first got it, it needed some tuning which is normal. It's a very nice guitar if you're just starting out because it's not too expensive, and it won't matter much if it gets a little banged up. Nice quality steel strings. I'm very excited to be using it.

I am disappointed in the extremely poor quality of this guitar. Even the strings were rusted. Lesson learned for me - got what i paid for . . .
