 Nice idea, but poor qualityDec 10, 2010

We bought this NAXA TV/DVD because it featured 12V power and ideal styling for our use (the primary entertainment TV on a compact yacht, which could be moved to our RV). It looked great as it came out of the box, but was poorly constructed and the DVD wouldn't load because of an obstruction. The vendor was responsive, but the product was a disappointment. We bought a second one (before we'd gotten the refund on the first because we had a trip coming up and really wanted this for our travels) and it came the day we were leaving, but was also defective (non-op DVD)! One of our DVD's is still out there somewhere. Frustrating and indicative of low or no quality care.

Bought one at a Pilot truck center for my RV. Looked great coming out of the box and found the picture to be very good BUT the sound quality was miserable. Lots of static which just got got worse as the unit was used. Took it back and exchanged it for another unit and had the exact same problem. Will be taking it back today and asking for a refund.

Based on earlier reviews it appeared that infant mortality was an issue with this product. It was played extensively using both HDTV and the DVD player the first month of ownership. It is still going strong.
The set was purchased to use when traveling in our travel trailer. The set runs better connected to the 120V AC than when connected to the 12V DC connector. This may be a fault with my AC/DC power converter. This was not an issue as we expect to have 120V AC when we stay in RV Parks.
The set met objectives and I recommend its purchase.

I installed this TV in the bedroom of my RV and everything seemed great, we were very pleased. However the very next day the remote wouldn't work. After a call to NAXA tech support, on my dime, toll free number on the warranty documentation has been disconnected, we determined that the remote was functioning and the suspected culprit was the remote sensor on the TV. Also one of the rubber feet fell off the first day, but this TV was wall mounted so that wasn't too hard to overlook. NAXA recommended having Amazon exchange the TV. Alas, no more in stock, had to go for the refund. Thank you Amazon for the excellent customer service you provide with your return policy!
