Very Nice Value!Dec 25, 2008
By V. K. Wagner This is an excellent quality iron. My husband wanted one with a retractable cord and auto shut-off as a safety reason. This item works great. Good quality and the price is great! It is very hard to find a decent quality iron with those credentials and not pay a lot more for it! This iron is a great buy!

Now I love to iron!Jan 07, 2010
By Susanne M. Quinn I think the Panasonic Steam Iron is the best I have ever used. It heats up fast. It is easy to fill. It has a 3 way auto shut-off. All in all I am very happy.

Used, most likely. Also DANGEROUS.Feb 16, 2010
By dallas7 The package says "You may find some moisture remaining inside the water tank. This is due to our testing of the steam mechanism performed at the factory..." That was OK until I noticed a considerable buildup of scale in the vent holes. Where on earth are they testing these irons if one test is clogging the vent holes? I am not convinced this iron isn't used. Here in Phoenix, AZ, the water is hard and there is no where near the buildup this "new" iron has in comparison to irons I've used over the years. Especially considering my lax discipline in the use of their self-cleaning.
Pondering the price and features, I thought of keeping the iron until I read this on page 11 in the manual: "If the Steam/Dry Selector is not in the Dry position after using, remaining water will move into the Soleplate and damage the Soleplate and may RESULT IN BURNS (emphasis mine) during the next initial use of the iron."
That diddy is step 4 in the "After each use" instruction set, step 3 being "Empty the iron..." So, even if you empty the iron, there may be enough water left in order to burn you later if you forget to move the selector to "dry" EVERY TIME you put up the iron FROM NOW ON!
I've decided to forget this iron instead. I've returned it for a refund. Once again, Five Stars go to Amazon for their near effortless refund protocol!
I also got the used iron!Feb 03, 2010
By M. Aldosari I got a used iron with water in the spray nozzle, condensation in the reserve and mineral deposits in the steam holes! right out from the box!!
Judging from the other 2 reviewers, they are either selling used irons or the same iron is tossed around.
I returned it, but I'm sure someone else will get it!
