I am addictedNov 15, 2011

I was given this present for Christmas and when I opened it I thought, "why would someone give me this?" Then my husband hooked it up to our VCR and I started playing it a little and the next thing I know I am in LOVE with some of these games, playing them for hours each week. Then it broke, and I had to have another one. They are so cheap, why not buy more than one? As stated they really only have about 75 games and the rest are repeats of the original. But if you are looking for a bang for your buck, this is great! I finally got to where I only played about 6 which were my favorites. And here it is 5 years later, and I am thinking about buying another since they are still on the market. I would love to be able to find the Mario Game elsewhere, so I could have more options of this game to play. But in any event, I love it. And you will, too.

not badMar 17, 2011
By the frugal man spends the most I really had fun with this game.
But in my life I bought at least 5 because they break down so easily.
And I thought there were really 2700 games in it, but there are only about 76.(repeats)
But if you want to travel back in time to the 80s, but you don't want to buy an nes, I reccomend you buy this game.

What you really getMar 27, 2011
By Brady Dalton What do you get from this product?
Up side: a whole lot of games. Down side: oh let me count the ways...
* This product has many blatant unauthorized uses of copyrighted material and is therefore ILLEGAL.
* Many of the games use the titles of popular franchises (unauthorized) and are in fact only unrelated games that were used (without permission) but hacked and altered graphically to appear to be from those franchises
* Many games are duplicates, with some graphical alterations
* The only "Joystick" included is an unnecessary screw-on extension to the second controller only, with a fake plastic joystick on the front of the main controller only being present to mimic the look of Nintendo's N64 controller
* The cartridge slot on the back of the controller (right where your fingers go) makes it probably the least comfortable controller I've ever held
* Construction is cheap cheap cheap. The direction pad on mine stopped working, with absolutely no apparent damage, careless handling, or even hardly any play-time of the system.

Don't know why I left this review up for so long...Feb 05, 2010

Good system, and very fun. However, as mentioned by many people on this site, it only has about maybe 70 or 80 original games, and the rest are repeats. And, while I was taken aback by the fact that I couldn't turn it into a portable system, I've found even as a standalone home game system, it is pretty fun. And, if anyone is interested, there is a way to create a portable battery for the 2010 edition without any sodering or any of that hard work(though one of the items is a little hard to find). At any rate, you will need the original game gear system(not the majesco unit from the late 90's and early 00's), a tv tuner, and the TV Now! or VuGo tv out cable...as for the rest of the stuff...well, the power plug on the back of 2010 model is compatable with an older camcorder power plug(the kind that charges up the external battery for said older camcorder). I plugged a couple of av cables into the ports on the charger(still don't know what that was supposed to be for), plugged an old av to older vcr adaptor into that(the older vcr adaptor is the same end as the sega genesis 1 model), plugged a sega genesis model 1 adaptor to 32x adaptor into that, then plugged that into my sega nomad which had the double AA external battery on the back(which surprisingly enough, did power the whole damn thing for about ten minutes). After I got through finding all of that out, I looked at my whole setup and realized I'd wasted the whole day. Who would not hide their face carrying all that around just to play 80 NES games on the go? I'm now saving up my money for the FC16 Go system(nes shmenes). There are some pretty awesome titles for that system that didn't make it to the portable console till only about 6 years ago(Doom, which was made for SNES). So...the super joy tv game is really fun, but don't waste your time trying to make it portable. 5 out of 5 stars!
