5good do it all boomboxApr 26, 2011
By Timberwolf "Rich"
I was pleased to see that it did all that it says it will but also to establish that the small top left port is indeed a port to plug in your mp3 player and it works fine.
I attempted to find out if it was an mp3 port, but no one could tell me and the description does not say, so I took a chance and bought it to find out.
The tapes go in vertically and therefor tape jam ups are less than when the tapes are horizontal and don't use gravity to take up slack in the tape.
I give this product a very good rating. It is very hard to find a good boombox that can do everything and this one does.

5Very pleased.Aug 31, 2011

I was thrilled to find a plug-in and battery powered machine that will play mp3's along with CDs and cassettes plus radio. Just what I was looking for! Everything works as I would expect. This is not a high-end piece of equipment so some may be displeased but, since my needs are simple, I am very happy with it. I've tried everything except the SD slot. I like the sound and the ease of use. My mid-teen granddaughter was blown away when she used it with her flash drive. I'll be buying her one for her birthday. ;)

5A Thoughtfully Built BoomboxOct 09, 2011
By PDogg
Basically, it's nice to know that this Supersonic SC-183UM player does play CDs, MP3-based CDs, Cassette tapes, and FM/AM radio. In the CD mode, it can create a short variety of equilization effects on the contents on a track by pressing the "Prog./Eq" button in front (some Bass oughta do!). Some amazing features include that it can play media from specialized USB equipment, it can read from a MSC card, and also have ports for Audio In as well as MIC in. The overall player is semi-compact and lightweight, so there's no biggie about it! The fashion sense has evolved for the present-day CD players!

4An Above Average Boom BoxSep 30, 2011

The only things that this boom box does not handle are DVDs.
.
The sound quality is much clearer and better than a typical boom box.

4Almost perfectJul 29, 2011

I've had this portable radio for a few weeks and it is everything I want in a portable music player. It can play CDs, cassettes, mp3s, and the radio.

I have two portable mp3 players that can connect with the USB, an mp3 player by Samsung and an Apple ipod nano. The radio could not read the Apple ipod nano, but the other mp3 player works perfectly. The only downside with this radio is that it plays some of your mp3s like a couple of seconds to 15 seconds into the song. I think it depends on how long the song is on how much it cuts into it. So if you're a stickler for hearing every second of your songs you might get annoyed.

I bought this with ground shipping on June 25th and it arrived on July 6th. I am taking one star off for the bizarre song butchering with the mp3 player. It's still an all-around great radio though for the price.
